Rajasthan Gangnahar Sinchai Pariyojana

 गंगनहर परियोजना :-

• यह परियोजना राज्य की प्रथम सिंचाई परियोजना है।
• गंगनहर परियोजना का निर्माण बीकानेर के तत्कालीन महाराजा गंगासिंह ने सन 1921-27 के मध्य करवाया था।
• गंगनहर परियोजना के निर्माण के कारण ही महाराजा गंगासिंह को आधुनिक भारत का भागीरथ कहा जाता है।
• यह परियोजना पंजाब राज्य के फिरोजपुर जिले मे स्थित हुसेनीवाला के निकट स्थित सतुलज नदी से निकाली गयी है।
• गंगनहर की कुल लंबाई हुसैनीवाला (पंजाब) से राजस्थान के राज्य श्रीगंगानगर (शिवपुर हैंड) तक 129 किमी है।
• राजस्थान राज्य मे नहर की लंबाई केवल 17 किमी है तथा शेष नहर की लंबाई पंजाब राज्य मे स्थित है।
• गंगनहर परियोजना के द्वारा राजस्थान राज्य के श्रीगंगानगर जिले के 3.08 लाख हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र पर सिंचाई होती है। 
• केद्रीय जल आयोग द्वारा गंगनहर के आधुनिकीकरण का कार्य 31 मार्च 2000 को प्रांरभ होकर वर्ष 2008 के अंत तक पुर्ण हो गया है।

महत्वपुर्ण तथ्य :-

1. राजस्थान राज्य के श्रीगंगानगर जिले मे सबसे अधिक मात्रा मे गेहूँ की खेती की जाती है इसी वजह से श्रीगंगानगर जिला अत्यधिक सिंचाई वाला जिला है
2. राजस्थान राज्य का श्रीगंगानगर नामक शहर पाकिस्तान देश के अत्यधिक निकट स्थित है
3. राज्य मे कुओ एंव नलकुपा से सर्वाधिक सिंचाई जयपुर जिले मे तथा नहरो द्वारा सर्वाधिक सिंचाई श्रींगंगानगर जिले मे एंव तालाबो के द्वारा सर्वाधिक सिंचाई भीलवाडा जिले मे की जाती है

Gangnahar Project :-

• This project is the first irrigation project of the state.

• The Ganganahar project was built by the then Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner between 1921-27.

• Maharaja Ganga Singh is called the Bhagirath of modern India due to the construction of Ganganahar project.

• This project has been taken out from the Sutulj river located near Hussainiwala in Ferozepur district of Punjab state.

• The total length of Ganganahar is 129 km from Hussainiwala (Punjab) to Sri Ganganagar (Shivpur Hand) in the state of Rajasthan.

• The length of the canal in the state of Rajasthan is only 17 km and the length of the remaining canal is located in the state of Punjab.

• Through Ganganahar project, 3.08 lakh hectare area of ​​​​Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan state is irrigated.

• The work of modernization of Ganga Nahar by the Central Water Commission started on 31 March 2000 and was completed by the end of 2008.

Important facts :-

1. The largest quantity of wheat is cultivated in Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan state, that is why Sriganganagar district is highly irrigated district.
2. The city of Sriganganagar in the state of Rajasthan is located very close to the country of Pakistan.
3. In the state, maximum irrigation from wells and tubes is done in Jaipur district and maximum irrigation through canals is done in Shringanganagar district and maximum irrigation is done through ponds in Bhilwara district.
