- गोगाजी का जन्म वि.सं.1003 में ददरेवा (चूरू) में जेवरसिंह चौहान और बाछलदे के घर हुआ। इनकी पत्नी का नाम केलमदे था। इनके गुरु गोरखनाथ थे।
- साँपों के देवता गोगाजी का थान खेजड़ी के वृक्ष के नीचे होता है। सर्पदंश होने पर इनकी पूजा की जाती है।
- गोगाजी ने मुस्लिम आक्रान्ता महमूद गजनवी से युद्ध किया।
- गोगामेड़ी में गोगाजी का मकबरेनुमा मंदिर है, जिसके दरवाजे पर 'बिस्मिल्लाह' अंकित है। मुस्लिम इन्हें "जाहरपीर" के रूप में पूजते हैं।
- प्रतिवर्ष भाद्रपद कृष्णा नवमी को हनुमानगढ़ जिले की नोहर तहसील के गोगामेड़ी गाँव में गोगाजी का विशालमेला भरता है।
- गोगाजी गायों की रक्षार्थ मौसेरे भाई अर्जन व सर्जन से लड़ते हुए शहीद हुए।
- गोगाजी की ओल्डी सांचोर (जालौर) में स्थित है।
- ददरेवा को शीर्षमेड़ी और गोगामेड़ी को धुरमेड़ी कहा जाता है
Gogaji (Jaharpir, Goga Bappa, God of snakes)
- Gogaji was born in V.No.1003 in Dadreva (Churu) to Jawar Singh Chauhan and Bachhalde. His wife's name was Kelamde. His guru was Gorakhnath.
- The place of the snake god Gogaji is under the Khejdi tree. They are worshiped in case of snakebite.
- Gogaji fought with the Muslim invader Mahmud Ghaznavi.
- There is a tomb-like temple of Gogaji in Gogamedi, on whose door 'Bismillah' is inscribed. Muslims worship him as "Jaharpir".
- Every year Bhadrapada fills a huge fair of Gogaji in Gogamedi village of Nohar tehsil of Hanumangarh district on Krishna Navami.
- Gogaji was martyred while fighting with his cousin Arjan and Surgeon to protect the cows.
- Gogaji's Oldie is located in Sanchore (Jalore).
- Dadreva is called Shirshamedi and Gogamedi is called Dhurmedi.
